The tour provides an exclusive look at the property’s defining features, from its structural genius to the curated collection of art that brings its spaces to life.

About the Tour

The Architecture and Art Tour is a journey through the structural and conceptual design of Shishi-Iwa House, celebrated globally for its unique prefabricated timber construction and ability to seamlessly blend with the surrounding Nagano landscape. You will explore the architectural details that define Ban’s humanist approach and his commitment to sustainable, innovative design.

Beyond the walls, the tour introduces you to the thoughtfully curated collection of artworks displayed throughout the property. This collection is not merely decorative; it complements the architecture, fostering a quiet dialogue between space, design, and art, deepening the sense of tranquility and place.

The tour is offered complimentary for all stay-in guests and takes place at the SSH1 Library from 2 pm and 4 pm. Given the intimate nature of the experience, capacity is strictly limited to 10 people, making advance reservation a requirement.

HOW TO RESERVE

To make a reservation:

Your reservation will be added to the cart at no cost. Payment for this service will be handled at the property when you arrive.
